S.A.M. (Spay A Mom)
S.A.M. stands for Spay a Mom, a program to help stop cat over population. Our Spay a Mom program provides free spay of the mom cat if all the kittens are surrendered to Willy's Kitty Angels Rescue. This benefits the owner of the mom cat because no money is paid to have the cat spayed, and the kittens are spayed, neutered and fully vetted prior to being adopted to approved adopters. You won't need to worry about finding homes for kittens, calling friends, family, co-workers or putting ads in the paper to find homes. And, you will be doing your part to help control the areas cat over population.
Some may argue they enjoy giving away the cute little kittens their mom cat has had to friends, family, or even people from Craigs List. Giving away kittens to supposed "good homes" may seem like a good deed, but who knows what happens to that kitten once it leaves you. Does it ever see a vet? Is it ever spayed or neutered? If it's a girl, is she destined to live a life of having litter after litter of kittens ? Stop and think about doing the right thing. We have worked the streets of Webster and Dudley for FIVE years ! We have seen what happens to "free kittens", we have seen the sickness and death of unwanted cats dumped trying to survive. We have cared for sick abandoned cats. Please don't sentence your kittens to that life. If you would like information on our Spay a Mom program, please call 508-873-0336. Or, complete and mail the Spay A Mom Application.
Please Note: All kittens must be surrendered to WKAR by 10 weeks of age or a surrender fee will apply.
NEW! Barn Cat Program!
Willy's introduces a new program for barn cats. Although we do not make a practice of moving stray and feral cats from their chosen homes, many of these cats live in life threatening areas. Regardless of the danger, these cats make do with their surroundings, dodging cars, running from potential abuse and scrounging for food from house to house.
Willy's Kitty Angels Rescue has a new barn program to help place these cats in a safer envirnoment. All you need to do is provide food and shelter, the placement fee for one barn cat is $25.00. We prefer to place them in pairs, all cats will be spayed/neutered, rabies and distemper vaccinated and combo tested prior to coming to your barn. We provide support for you and the cats during the transition, and will do everything we can to ensure a proper match. Barn placements require a lifetime commitment to the cats, just like a regular adoption. To apply for a barn cat, please specifiy "Barn Cat" on your application. A barn visit is mandatory for adoption approval.
